Run the Diagnostic

Invoke the Compound Diagnostic skill inside your Strategist Coach. 30 minutes of structured Q&A across Person, Problem, POV. Produces your first canonical file — the baseline that every coach and skill from this point reads.

30 min conversation · Bring honest answers, not polished ones
What This Is

Your first skill invocation. Your first canonical file.

You installed your Strategist Coach in 0.2. The Compound Diagnostic skill is already loaded in its knowledge base. This module is where you actually invoke it — open your coach, type the trigger phrase, and the skill runs.

The diagnostic is a structured 25–30 minute conversation. The coach pushes back when answers are vague. It captures exact buyer language when you give it. At the end, it produces a scored baseline document with gaps, strengths, and priorities for what to sharpen first in Phase 1.2.

You can't build sharp positioning on a blurry baseline. This is how you find out where you actually stand — and create the first file the entire program reads.
The Three Circles

What the diagnostic assesses.

Three dimensions. Each gets scored. Each gets a gap analysis. Together they form the foundation that Phase 1.2 builds your full positioning on.

Circle 01

Person

Who you serve. Not by demographics — by situation. What's happening in their world when they become a buyer. Their emotional state, their decision style, the exact language they use to describe their problem.

Circle 02

Problem

What you actually solve. All the problems you see in your space, then which one your buyers actually hire you for. The surface symptom they notice first. What they'd Google at 11pm.

Circle 03

POV

What makes your perspective different. Your natural advantages, your contrarian beliefs, what you stand against in your industry, your unique mechanism. Why you and not someone else.

The skill also tests cross-circle alignment — whether the person you described actually has the problem you described, whether your POV speaks to that person, whether your unique mechanism solves that specific problem. Misalignment between circles is where most positioning fails, and the diagnostic surfaces it before you do the Positioning skill in 1.2.

Come Prepared

You don't need to rehearse. Have these ready.

The conversation works best with real material, not polished pitches. The skill wants the messy, unfiltered version.

If you're pre-launch

You don't need clients yet. The skill adjusts. Instead of "your best clients," it asks "the people you most want to help" and "what problems do you see in your space that you're uniquely equipped to solve?" It flags the material as projected rather than evidence-based — exactly the right framing for where you are.

How to Invoke the Skill

Open the coach. Say the word.

Skills aren't buttons. They're modes the Strategist Coach enters when you signal intent. Use any of these trigger phrases — or anything equivalent — and the skill activates.

Trigger phrases
  • "Let's run the diagnostic"
  • "I'm ready for the diagnostic"
  • "Run my baseline assessment"
  • "Let's do the compound diagnostic"
  • "Where do I stand"

Once the skill is active, the coach will:

  1. Ask your name + business
Quick basics. Used throughout the conversation and in the final output.
  2. Move through six phases of structured questions
Landscape → Person → Problem → POV → Connections → Reflection. One question at a time. Waits for your answer. Pushes back if vague.
  3. Play your inputs back before producing
After all questions, summarizes what it heard. You confirm or correct.
  4. Generate the structured diagnostic output
Inside a code block. Rated across Person / Problem / POV with STRONG / DEVELOPING / UNDEVELOPED. Buyer language captured. Gaps named. Priorities for Phase 1.2 ranked.
  5. Hand control back to the Strategist
The skill exits cleanly. The Strategist resumes standard behavior and walks you through saving and next steps.
After the Diagnostic

Save the file. Send it. Move forward.

The diagnostic output is your first canonical file. Treat it that way from minute one.

  1. Copy the diagnostic output
The skill delivers it inside a code block. Copy everything between the dividers.
  2. Save as compound-consultant-diagnostic.md
In the /Compound Consultant OS folder you created in 0.1. As a plain text .md file. This is the first file in your knowledge library.
  3. Upload the file to your Strategist Coach project
In your Strategist Coach's knowledge base, add the file. The Strategist will read it at the start of every future session — including the Positioning skill session in 1.2.
  4. Email a copy to Mike
Send the diagnostic to mike@rejoincoaching.com. We review it together on your onboarding call. This isn't optional — the call uses the diagnostic as the starting agenda.
  5. Move to 1.2 — Build Your Positioning
With the diagnostic loaded, you're ready for the Positioning skill — 60–90 minutes of guided build producing 7 canonical files.
Next

Build your full positioning.

With the diagnostic baseline in your knowledge library, the Positioning Architect skill takes you through the deep build. 60–90 minutes. POV → Problem → Person → Synthesis. Produces the 7 canonical files every downstream phase reads.
